I give this five star out of five because I enjoyed reading it so much. I recommend this book to the readers who is adventurous, and to those who wants to laugh. Since I already read this book my favorite part of the story is when Greg took the blame from Rowley and ask for forgiveness. The two made up and looks forward to a summer filled with video games. Greg and Rowley become best friend until Greg gets Rowley into trouble with the school’s principal after scaring the kids while wearing Rowley’s coat. It also shows he befriends Rowley, who he considers as immature. And about to start his middle school where he wants to become popular and cool. The novel is about a kid named Greg who fills his journal of all his misfortune life.
It’s all about no matter how many new friends we have or whatever happens, we still have a true friend that who will be always there for us, just like in the novel when Greg stood up for Rowley from the criticism of the students. But I love the themes in the book of friendship and always stand up for yourself.

What I dislike was that they shortened the movie and Greg’s being stubborn sometimes. This novel will definitely make you laugh and smile. What I like in this novel is that they use relatively large font that helps the me read it easily, the illustrations also helps me to enjoy reading the novel that makes it more interesting and the attitude of Greg that even if he fails he never gives up and try it again. Greg and Rowley became best friends again and made plans to spend the entire summer together. But Greg tells that he’s the one who ate the cheese to save Rowley.
Students came at the ground and noticed that the cheese was in front of Rowley and it has a bite. Greg tried to talk with Rowley, but they end up fighting, the teenagers who bullied them came back, this time, they forced Rowley to eat the moldy cheese on the ground and Rowley refused, but they threaten him, so he did eat it, and the bullies left. Greg decided to confess to Rowley what he did, Rowley was hurt, and he broke their friendship. When the school principal heard about it, he then fired Rowley because the neighbor mistook Greg as Rowley because of the raincoat that Greg borrowed to his friend. A neighbor saw what was he doing, and she reported it to the school. One day, Greg walks the kindergarten to their homes when he decides to scare the kids saying that a monster will eat and chase them. When Rowley returns to school with a cast, the girls started to talk and nursing him that made Greg jealous. During Christmas break, Rowley break his arm when Greg threw a football to Rowley causing his friend to fall from his bike when they are playing. The only trouble is that Jeff Kinney's masterpieces are so easy to read and so hilarious that some children find it hard to get beyond them and find other books that they can genuinely read for pleasure.
Greg threatens them that they will report them to the police, the teenagers chase them. Ask any group of 10-year-olds which of them have read Diary of a Wimpy Kid and almost every hand in the room will go up. It was Halloween day when Greg and Rowley was bullied by teens who sprayed the both of them a water when they are having their trick or treat.
