Series star Danay García (Luciana) spoke about the final season during an Instagram Live session and shared that she feels “it’s time” to close out the show after nearly a decade. Showrunners and executive producers revealed that not only would the series be concluding, but the final season would be split into two parts of six episodes apiece for a total of 12. The final season of Fear the Walking Dead was announced during the Television Critics Association winter press tour. In many ways, it was very similar to the flagship show, but still managed to stand on its own with unique storylines and memorable characters.
